Back in form
This past weekend was back to cricket days week. The world cup that's underway didn't grab much of my attention this time around even though I was a staunch cricket lover until a few years ago. I think it shows the declining patience in me to have a day of rendezvous with TV watching cricket. Things have changed over the past few years in personal life, first grade growing son who can express his desires and dislikes. He wanted to watch cricket because our neigbouring kids wanted to. He probably wouldn't have watched if it were him alone but the socializing with other kids part piqued an action in him. We eventually ended up at a friends house watching India's encounter with England to watch the second innings of England's batting. For more than two thirds of the innings victory was trending in England's favor but in the last 7 or 8 overs India gained control over the situation. England lost some good batsmen in quick succession, which sparked the loud cheering in our group with both the kids and adults joining the voices. I enjoyed it thoroughly it after a long time staying away from cricket. The gamed ended up as a tie with both teams scoring equal runs. I thought it was a better outcome for India than loosing after struggling to put a dent in Englands consistent run making until the last 10 overs. I think my time was well spent in the end with both my son and friends.
